7 Months to Go!!

Yep – Kate is getting married 7 months from today – thank goodness for those 31 day months, because it’s actually 7 months and 2 days. What have we accomplished?

Her dress has been selected, ordered and is being made right now – somewhere…

Bridesmaids dresses, see how happy they are?

After the dress is finished, Pippa will begin working on the detailed plans for us.

Zeroing in on flowers, we have time on that one…

Reception venue found – one big table should solve the seating arrangement issue, don’t you think?

Menu selected – do you think guests will be happy with food on a stick?

DJ booked – hope he has The Chicken Dance in his repertoire!

…and MY dress has been found, it is currently 3 and 1/2 yards of fabric and a vintage McCall’s pattern – waiting to be made, by me. (what am I thinking???)

So, that is Life in the FACS Lane these days, plans are to start working on my dress soon. I am loving getting back into sewing and dusting off those flat-pattern skills from college.

Any hints on wedding planning/survival are welcome.

Married since 1983 and mom to two adult children who live out of state. About to become a first-time Mor-Mor (grandma) in December.

    Keep plenty of wine around….

  3. You have actually made some good progress if you have the dresses all figured out. Menus seem to take awhile to decide upon. My only suggestion would be a calendar with deadlines for things ..bridesmaid gifts purchased or made, music choices made, invitations ordered, invitations finished, etc. Soooo many details. Good luck!
